  2. Funding Funding and support for the development and implementation of the Pecos River Watershed Protection Plan is provided through federal Clean Water Act §319(h) Nonpoint Source grant from the TSSWCB and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

  3. Implementation Outlined in WPP • Water quality management plans • Riparian revegetation • Well plugging • Irrigation canal water audits • Upstream water delivery timing

  4. Water Quality Management Plans(WQMPs) • Landowner requested • Site specific plan • Landowners in Pecos River Watershed • Developed through local SWCD • Free Technical Assistance • Pollution prevention / abatement • Certified through the Texas State Soil & Water Conservation Board

  5. WQMP - Benefits • Voluntary conservation program promoting ag production & environmental quality • Implements Pecos River WPP to restore Pecos River water quality • Developed for your operation to assist in managing available natural resources

  11. Dissolved Oxygen Modeling • We do have a Dissolved Oxygen Impairment in the reach from Pecos to Girvin. • This study is to determine the cause of the impairment and to assist in the treatment to resolve the impairment.

Salinity Source Isolation Proposal • Proposal submitted to TSSWCB for Clean Water Act Section 319(h) funding consideration ▫ Use helicopter based Electromagnetic Survey to identify salinity hotspots ▫ Verify Electromagnetic Survey results with hydrogeological assessment Proposal is still undergoing review
