Vibrating Manipulation

  3. Vibrating manipulation is performed by using the forearm to stretch-flex the muscle group with the tip of the middle finger or the palm as the force-giving points; and contracting in a narrow range, swiftly and alternatively to cause soft vibration which keeps effecting on the treated region on the body surface. It is also called “vibrating trembing manipulation”.

The manipulation with the middle finger as the force-giving point is called “finger-vibrating manipulation”; that with the palm as the force-giving point is called “palm-vibrating manipulation”.

  5. 【动作结构Structure of Operation】 1.

  6. In palm-vibrating manipulation, the palm is pressed close to the treated region, and the elbow should be slightly lower to the wrist. In finger-vibrating manipulation, the doctor straightly stretches his middle finger with the metacarpophalangeal joint flexed for about 100 degress, vertically puts the tip of the finger on the point with the wrist joint slightly flexed.

  8. In operation, the wrist of the forearm’s flexing and stretching muscle groups are continuously and alternatively contracted and relaxed to make the movements of flexing and stretching of the hand reverse swiftly after each short vibration, so that vibration and quiver are caused. Its frequency is about 8~12 times per second.

  10. In operating this manipulation, the doctor should concentrate his attention, regulate his breath evenly, direct his qi through concentration down to Dantian and direct the flow of qi up from Dantian by his with, and direct the flow of qi from the in side of the operating hand to Laogong point of the palm or the tip of the middle finger.

  11. The operation should direct his strength through concentration by his will, produce force with the flow of qi and vibration with the force. The operation should be accomplished naturally, fluently, harmoniously and uniformly.Vibration by holding his breath strongly is prohibited, for the manipulation can not remain for a long time, and in the course of time, it would destroy the vital-qi resulting in autolesion.

It has the effects of tranquilizing and allaying excitement, improving vision and intelligence, warming the middle-jiao and regulating the flow or qi, promoting digestion and removing stagnated food, regulating enterogastric peristalsis, etc.

• This manipulation can be applied to all the point on the body, especially to the craniofacial region and the thoracico-abdominal region.

• It has evident effects on insomnia, amnesia, anxiety, vehetative nerve functional disturbance, gastrointestinal dysfunction, tension of athletes before match, etc.
