Coexpression Patterns of MC4-R and ChAT mRNAs in Key Brain Regions

This study investigates the coexpression of melanocortin-4 receptor (MC4-R) and choline acetyltransferase (ChAT) mRNAs in critical areas of the brain, including the paraventricular hypothalamus (PVH), intermediate medial nucleus (IML), and various regions of the dorsal motor nucleus of the vagus (DMV). Understanding the localization and interaction of these mRNAs may provide insight into their roles in neurophysiological processes and potential implications for appetite regulation and energy homeostasis.
