  4. The Internship • Applied through BITE scheme with help • Existing skills & knowledge to be of use • Research & Development • Small team of engineers • Ongoing Low Power Communications project • Get some industry experience • Help me plan my future – industry or academia?

  5. My Experience • Opportunity to work in fast moving company • Put knowledge into practice • Identify weaker skills which can be strengthened • Made friends, contacts, networking • Potential employment • Fantastic experience • I decided industry was the better path for me

  6. ARM’s Viewpoint • New ideas and perspective on ongoing projects • Achieved project milestone • Successful project outcomes: • Academic paper • Patent (pending review) • Strengthened links between UCL and ARM • Potential for recruiting

  7. Future Plans • I returned from my ARM after Christmas break • Continuing with final year of PhD • Looking for employment after my PhD • Made important career choices • Potential for future work on ad-hoc basis • Likely I will apply to ARM when I finish my PhD
