  2. How is it contracted? Coming in contact with somebody who was sick

  3. Symptoms Severe and sudden sore throat without coughing, sneezing, or other cold symptoms Pain or difficulty with swallowing Fever over 101°F (38.3°C) Lower fever may point a viral infection and not strep throat Swollen lymph nodes in the neck

  4. How long does the illness last? This illness last about 3-7 days

  5. How is it treated? Strep Throat is treated by antibiotics

  6. Is hospitalization required? No hospitalization required

  7. Is there a vaccine for it? There is no vaccine to help prevent Strep Throat
