  7. Strainer • Strains lumps from soups and sauces • Terms: strain

  8. Meat Thermometer • Measure the internal temperature of meat and poultry

  9. Pastry Blender • Cuts shortening into dry ingredients • Terms: Cut in

  10. Wire Whisk • Use to blend to food items together, adds air to ingredients • Terms: whip, whisk, blend

  11. Metal or straight edge spatula • Level-off when measuring, spreading

  12. Turner • Used to lift and turn food items over

  13. Rubber Scraper • Used to scrape food out of bowls, pans and other containers • Term: Scrape
