What are perks of being active ? • Improves health and skill in a specific event • Prevents coronary heart disease, osteoporosis, weakness, diabetes, obesity, and depression • Helps prevent physical diseases • Improves strength, endurance, balance, and confidence • Walking, running, and climbing stairs improves metabolism, bone strength, muscle strength and mass • Weight training improves muscle growth and muscle tone • Running, brisk walking, cycling, and swimming strengthens muscles in heart

  3. What methods of exercise are there? • Running • Brisk walking • Cycling • Swimming • Chin ups • Push ups • Sit ups • Dumbbells • Barbells • Stationary bikes • Aerobics

  4. Why is exercise necessary? • Improves stamina • Strengthens and tones • Enhances flexibility • Controls weight • Improves quality of life
