India has more than 50% population below the age of 25 and more than 65% below the age of 35. It is expected that, in 2020, the average age of an Indian will be 29 years, compared to 37 for China and 48 for Japan. This is the 'make or break' decade for India. Right education is most critical factor that can make the billion plus population an asset. AUS is a young, contemporary University with a reputation for being innovative. We aspire every day to combine outstanding world class teaching, excellent research and strong industry-academic links, with a focus on the communities we serve. The vision of AUS is to become a World Class University and enable the youth to excel both academically and professionally. The objective of AUS is to disseminate knowledge by providing best possible Instructional and research facilities with provisions for Integrated Courses. Over the last six years the Institution has grown rapidly and today it boasts one of the largest enrolments of UG/PG students in the entire North East. We are working tirelessly on building state of the art infrastructure with experienced and dedicated faculty to realise our goal of becoming one of the ‘Best Universities’ of the country and the World. Since the region is bestowed with rich agriculture and horticultural diversity, it is our duty to harness the power of agricultural bio-resources and unleash the true power of North East. To address the falling standards of education and increased dropout rates in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, University has introduced: “Navsrijan Programme” with focus on secondary and tertiary education across the state.   5. A U S CHIEVE LTIMATE UCCESS About AUS The Arunachal University of Studies has been established by Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh through an Act of State Legislator. The University is duly recognized by UGC u/s 2(f) and is empowered to award degrees specified u/s 22 of UGC Act 1956. The University is the member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. The certifications issued by the University are globally accepted. The University enjoys the status of being the 'Extreme North-Eastern University of India and blessed with the affection of Lord Donyi (Sun), as 'The First University to witness the sunrise in India'. It is situated at the serene location of Namsai district in Arunachal Pradesh, which is also popular for the famous Buddhist temple and monastery, The Kongmu Kham (Golden Pagoda). The University is strategically located as it shares border with many important districts of the region spread across the Northern Brahmaputra belt such as Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Pasighat, Longding, Tirap, Changlang, Lohit, Anjaw, Lower Dibang Valley, Dibang Valley, Siang, Upper Siang, Sibsagar, Jorhat, Moran, Golaghat, Dumdooma, Kakopathar, Digboi, Dulijan, Margherita, Naharkatia, Namrup, Dhemaji and North Lakhimpur. The University has excellent connectivity via National Highway NH-52 and NH-37 by Road, Rail (Tinsukia) and Air (Dibrugarh). The connectivity between Eastern Arunachal Pradesh with NW Arunachal Pradesh & Assam has immensely improved after commissioning of the largest Rail cum Road over Bogibeel Bridge & the longest & famous The Bhupen Hazarika Setu. 2

The University believes in imparting both knowledge & skill-based education to the students in a comprehensive format while not compromising on the traditional ways of pedagogy. It has therefore embarked on a novel concept clubbing the class room lectures and practical element together to nurture best of the skills in young leaders and entrepreneurs. This approach lightens up the interest of the students in their respective subjects and this gives a holistic approach to the whole perception of education. The university courses are a mix of both conventional and modern educational methodologies. The University has applied for various Government aided Skill Entrepreneurship Development and Capacity Building programmes which will soon begin in the campus. The University has an active a Placement Cell which is aggressively working to collaborate with leading the organizations for providing placement opportunities to the students. The curriculum has been very carefully crafted by subject experts to incorporate best of the classrooms teachings supplemented with real-time work trainings, designed mainly to complement latest industry standards and provide the students the required scope to hone their capabilities. The Arunachal University of Studies has been legislated by Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh as per Section 2(f) of University Grants Commission Act, 1956. The University is duly empowered to award Degrees as notified by the University Grants Commission u/s 22. The University is Member of Association of Indian Universities, which facilitates the equivalency of various certifications amongst its member universities. The Certifications awarded by the University are applicable for further Studies in other National and International Universities/ recognized Institutions. The University is the First and only State University of Arunachal Pradesh which is duly accredited by The National Assessment Accreditation Council (NAAC). The Arunachal University of Studies is one of the youngest university level institution in India to get NAAC Accreditation. The University is duly approved by Bar Council of India (BCI) for conducting Legal Education Courses. The 5 Years Integrated B.A.-LL.B. and 3 Years Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) Programme of University are applicable for registration as Advocate with Bar Council of India. The University is approved by National Council for Teacher's Education (NCTE) for conducting various Techer's Education Courses. The AUS is offering NCTE approved D.El.Ed., Integrated BA-B.Ed., Integrated B.Sc.-B.Ed., B.Ed. and M.Ed. Programme. 5

AUS is the only RCI approved Centre for Disability Studies in eastern Arunachal Pradesh. The awards from university are applicable for Registration with Rehabilitation Council of India. The University is approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) for conducting Pharmacy Courses. The 2 Years Diploma in Pharmacy and 4 Years Bachelor of Pharmacy Programme of University are applicable for registration as Pharmacist with Pharmacy Council of India.. The University is approved by State Nursing Council for conducting various Nursing Courses. The 2 Years B.Sc. (Nursing-Post Basic) and 4 Years B.Sc. (Nursing Basic) Programme of the University are applicable for registration as Nursing Practitioner with State Nursing Council. The Basic Bridge Programme (NSQF level 2 – Secondary Certification) under Navsrijan Scheme, Directorate of Pre-University Education of Arunachal University of Studies is duly approved by Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt. of India for the purpose of enrolment of Nai Manzil Candidates. The University is approved by Directorate of Medical Education, Training & Research, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh for conducting 4.5 Year Bachelor of Physiotherapy, 3.5 years B.Sc. (Medical Laboratory Technology) and B.Sc. (Medical Radio Imaging Technology) Programme. DIRECTORATE OF MEDICAL EDUCATION, TRAINING & RESEARCH GOVT. OF ARUNACHAL PRADESH Equivalency accorded to all NSQF Level Certifications including 'O Level' , 'A Level', 'B Level' & 'C Level' certifications of National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Minority of Electronics & Information Technology for the purpose of continuing education under Credit Transfer Scheme with the University. No Objection Certificate from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi for conducting technical education courses. The AICTE vide letter F.No.10/AICTE/Misc/2013 dated 17th April, 2015 informed that “State/ Pvt./ Deemed Universities duly recognized by UGC, don't require prior approval of AICTE to run technical Program/ courses.” Status Clarification from Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi for conducting various Agriculture Education Programme. The ICAR vide letter F.No.Edn.2/5/2015-EQR dated 12th August, 2105 has informed that the Council doesn't grant permission to conduct Agriculture and Horticulture courses. Memorandum of Understanding with National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), under Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India, New Delhi for promoting Entrepreneurship Development and Skill Culture Programme and inclusion of NIESBUD training programme modules into the formal education modules of the University. Memorandum of Understanding with National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), under Ministry of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Govt. of India, New Delhi for Resource & Knowledge Sharing, Training, Capacity Building, Women Empowerment through joint efforts. Memorandum of Understanding with Northumbria University, New Castle, United Kingdom for Faculty and Student exchange programme. The Northumbria University accepts credit transfer/ lateral entry of the students of Arunachal University of Studies in selected Disciplines. Memorandum of Understanding with Maejo University, Chiang Mai Province, Thailand for sharing knowledge, resources, faculty & student exchange, joint certification, joint research & development Programme. The Maejo University is oldest Agriculture University of Thailand. MoU with INFLIBNET for Shodhganga/ Shodhgangotri an Inter-University Centre of UGC to promote open access & host scholarly content like Thesis, dissertations etc. generated in universities. This is very useful for preventing misuse of the already published research work & protection of copyright of M.Phil/ Ph.D. research Scholars of the university. Establishment of Cooperation with Coventry University, United Kingdom for Faculty and Student exchange programme. The Coventry University accepts credit transfer/ lateral entry of the students of Arunachal University of Studies in selected Disciplines. Memorandum of Understanding with Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai Province, Thailand for sharing knowledge, resources, faculty & student exchange, joint certification, joint research & development Programme. The Chiang Mai University Thailand is one of the biggest University of Country. Memorandum of Understanding with National Council for Sports & Youth Development (NCYSD), New Delhi for promoting joint activities in areas of Youth Development Programme, Sports and Physical Sciences. The NCYSD is also arranging On Job Trainings for the Students of University. 7

At AUS we give opportunity to the student to practically perform the activities which they have learned so that they understand the real-world challenges faced while working and gain professional experience. At AUS, students are offered with latest and updated academic programmes, professional faculties, well furnished classrooms and laboratories, sport facilities and extra-curricular activities for their holistic development. AUS offers variety in education like: ON JOB TRAINING/ INTERNSHIP 1. Bachelor of Education students are offered internship opportunities in nearby schools and educational institutions; 2. Students pursuing undergraduate programme in Agriculture are offered Rural Agriculture Work Experience (RAWE) programme of Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) as an internship in which they have to visit various rural agriculture farmlands to gain experience under the guidance of experts; 3. Students pursuing Commerce & Management programmes are taken to industrial facilities to obtain internship and professional experience; COMMUNITY SERVICES University implements various programmes launched & promoted by central government and state government for the benefit of local community. General Awareness Camp on health & safety; 4. Disaster Management Programme; STUDY ABROAD The University has singed Memorandum of Understanding with reputed Universities of Thailand and United Kingdom in which students of AUS can pursue further education and get entitled for work opportunities in those countries. The State of Arunachal Pradesh is blessed with vast natural resources, still its more than 40% population is being deprived of any permanent source of income. As per the reports of NSDC by 2021 around 6 Lacs people of the state will be unemployed. Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt. of India has approved the Navsrijan Scheme for the purpose of enrolling the candidates under “Nai Manzil Programme” of the Ministry. The privileges of charter is assigned by the authority based on evaluation for conferring a certification equivalent to formal academic qualification to the grantee. The Arunachal University of Studies vide Extraordinary Gazette Notification No. Law/Legn-11/2012 dated May 30, 2102 is duly authorized to conduct NSQF aligned Charter Certification for the purpose of enhancing employable skills amongst trainees. The trainee's can earn the credits of charter at their pace, convenience and as per their own capability.
