  3. Staff at your institution whom your director approves, will receive an email from OSG. • You will be directed to contact OSG for your password. Two ways to get to the site: www.michigan.gov/OSG click on the link to MI-Scholarships Online or https://treas-secure.state.mi.us/OSG/welcome.asp

  4. MCS/MTG awards are made by the state (OSG). • Awards are posted to MISO. This is your official notice of who is awarded. • OSG does notsend award letters to students. • You must monitor to see who has it and if it is correct, etc.

  5. What You Can Do on MISOBy Screen Online Marion will demonstrate how to: • View student record/FAFSA data. • Monitor awards online for instant change. • View your institution’s accounting information (payments, refunds, balances).

  6. MISO – Awards by Electronic File • The MISO system creates two electronic files of your awardees every Saturday between 12 midnight and 1 a.m. • The first file is your award 1 (or 2, or 3) file showing awards for the current semester/term. • The second file is your total year file and it shows the full year award amount for each student. • These files are updated and put into your DEG mailbox for pick up every Monday.

  7. DEG Mailbox • Data Exchange Gateway (DEG) is the state of Michigan’s secure mailbox. All data is encrypted to protect SSNs. Using the DEG Marion will demonstrate how to: • Download your file. • Save and open your file. • Update/verify enrollment for your file. • Return your file to OSG.

  8. Download your file.Do not open here. • Save to desktop or other destination and open file in Excel. • Update and/or verify enrollment. See handout of file layout. • Return to OSG. Save as comma delimited file. Name properly with unique identifier.

  9. Remember: • You cannot add a student if they are not on the system. Contact us about how to add. • Notify us if information about SAP, GPA, citizenship, residency is cleared. • Print the verification page that shows the file was sent. • If you “lose” a file, contact OSG. We always have a copy we can re-send.

  10. Verification deadline dates are posted on the OSG Payment Schedule which is located on the Web at www.michigan.gov/OSG. Next deadline is February 15, 2012, for second semester/term.
