Ozone Monitoring in Horry County • The Myrtle Beach – Conway – North Myrtle Beach MSA is required to have one ozone monitor based on new MSA definitions released by the US Census. • The state of North Carolina has indicated that they will not be siting a monitor in this MSA. • NC DENR expects to reach an agreement with SC to have the ozone monitor located and operated in Horry County to characterize the total MSA, including Brunswick County, NC.

  3. Ozone Monitoring in Horry County (continued) • We anticipate to begin operation of the monitor for the 2015 ozone season. • We have identified a site on the Coastal Carolina campus and are proceeding with finalizing approval of this site. • The following map shows the approximate location of the site (highlighted by a red box) just to the north of US 501 and southeast of Conway.
