Further Steps for MoD • Policy gap analysis • National priorities will be identified • Draft report has just released • 20 irrelevant targets • 11th National Development Plan 2019-2023 • Integration of SDGs into this National Policy Framework • Specialization Commission work will be finished in 2018 • Other stakeholders will update their strategic plans to improve data collection and reflect to new programmes • National Sustainable Development Commission (NSDC) • Close cooperation with data producers will best operate under a national coordination body • Should be activated shortly

Further steps for TurkStat • Discussing data gaps and collaboration • Compiling available indicators • Producing/prioritization of unavailable but producible indicators • Workshops with stakeholders in 2018 • National monitoring and reporting indicators • Improving data transmission mechanisms • Developing national indicator set in compliance with national priorities • Detailed national workplan • Improving national reporting platform • Effective dissemination through a web portal and press release

Challenges • Global Challenges • Absence of metadata • Necessity of disaggregated data • Uncertainty of data transmission process • National Challenges • Some indicators are problematic for Turkey • Quality or lack of administrative registers • National Sustainable Development Commission should be activated and extended • Waiting for political mandate for national indicator framework • Coordination and ownership
