Implementation planning New Student Registration (Summ/Fall) Consequential Validity Survey Report Identify students who were placed by English Writing test and their faculty Launch *anonymous student & faculty survey of placement validity Analyze and report on evidence of placement validity English Writing Placement Exam Timeline

English Writing Placement Exam Implementation Planning & Implementation Occurs Across Teams Assessment Coordinators Standardized Testing Procedures (Including Mobile Testing) Enrollment Processing Partnership with OUSD Counselors Use of writing test in multiple measures placement decision English Faculty Experts Content Validity of Test & Grading Rubric Training Graders Districtwide Standardization Districtwide Pool of Readers Consistent placement across colleges, (i.e., intergrader reliability >.70)

PCCD Validation Report* Evidence Based on Standardized Testing Procedures: • 45 minutes (Avg. test time) • 3-reader grading system • reported reliability of >.70* • Note: The writing samples would be graded while the student is taking the CAPP portion of the Assessment • 3 Approved Prompts (Other prompts didn’t meet criteria for reliability & absence of bias) *PCCD Validation Report Available at: http://bit.ly/2nqfzVA ** In accord with CCCCO standards for a locally-developed writing test, per Oct. 2016 Memo, see: http://bit.ly/2nKMUru
