The CITI at U.S. NMRCD PERU Education and Training Policy, November 2006 DON HRPP • Training by role and responsibility • All U.S. Navy HRPP programs • Deadline, 30 May 2007 Institutional commitment, DON HRPP, NMRC, NMRCD Enforcement in all Programs at researcher and research team level 274 individuals completed the training module by role and responsibility

  9. Monitoring and Progress 895 registered through NMRCD 393 have started their training 98 have completed the Basic Module 6 institutions are establishing Education Policies with the CITI as their course

Concerns • Slow implementation of training requirement in Peru at institutional level • Not enough motivation to complete training, overworked research personnel • A few technical difficulties accessing the system • Initial access page in English and with information requirements not applicable to Peru • Some tests still in English

Goals and Future Plans • Provide updated educational and training tools to investigators and regulatory bodies • Sustainability and dissemination of CITI modules in the region • Develop and apply a survey to assess impact of CITI PERU training at institutional and at national level • Complete modules applicable to Peru • and other Latin American countries
