R&D financing vs. ACARE Taxonomy FP6 and FP7: Participation in key IP projects: Friendcopter, VITAL, CESAR, NEWAC, NACRE, NICE-TRIP, HISAC, MOET, DREAM, HIRF SE, ALICIA, OPENAIR – key industrial (with SMEs) and R&D partners involved.   14. National AeronauticsResearchProgrammesin Poland On 1.07.2008 a national research programme “Modern Material Technologies for Aviation Industry” has started. Strategic goal of the programme is to focus the national-level aviation research on domains that have or will have decisive influence on the improvement of the competitiveness of Polish economy and constituting of the knowledge-based economy. National AeronauticsResearchProgrammesin Polandin National Research and Development Programme National Research and Development Programme – Ministry of Science and Higher Education Within Priority Research Area “Energy and infrastructure” several aeronautical topics have been identified: Materials and systems for pollution emission reduction Reliability and durability of transport Utilization of small airfields and small airplanes (GeneralAviation) in transport systems Nanotechnologies for transport applications Advanced material technologies (Strategic R&D programme) Latest update of the National R&D Programme was announced in October 2008. Modern laboratory - material research for aircraft industry • New center for coating technologies • Research programme for materials for aircraft industry EPATS project Coordinated by Institute of Aviation Goal: to demonstrate the needs and potential of small aircraft business development and to propose recommendations for the introduction of this new European Air Transportation System in the context of the European Research Areas.   22. General Aviationin PolandInfrastructure 500 mln € of support funds from EC (Starting from 2010/2011) for further development of 10 Polish airports servicing less than 5 mln passengers a year. Supporting programme envisages help especially for: (re)construction, rebuilding airport infrastructure, especially devices connected directly to the infrastructure (re)construction, rebuilding technical and operational infrastructure as well as accompanying infrastructure for the airports systems (re)construction, rebuilding airport infrastructure, including passenger terminals. General Aviationin PolandInfrastructure Airport in Czechowice-Dziedzice and Park of Aviation Technology Target: to create great opportunities for manufacturing small aircraft, Value of investment: 28 mln PLN (approx. 8 mln Euro), Currently: runway (length: 700 m, width 22 m), Objective: 4 hangars (2500. m2 of total area),4 production shops (7500. m2 of total area), control tower (including construction and customer service bureau),refueling station, employment: 350-500. Silesian Scientific Technological Centre of Aviation Industry Investment value: 12 mln Euro, Cooperation with: Main Mining Institute, Silesian University of Technology, University of Bielsko-Biała, R&D together with manufacturing of high-tech composite components for aviation and military industry, Production centre for small aviation companies cooperating with key players in aircraft engine industry, Creation of a service centre for small aircraft engines, Creation of a professional training and education centre ACARE MSG Workshop Brussels, 22th JUNE 2010
