  2. The Local Context • Pasay has considerable movement of migrants into the city's low-income areas • The average Pasay household is 7 persons per household. The city has a total of 73,846 households. • Pasay is considered as one of the child trafficking hot spots having the highest number of bars and prostitution dens employing victims of trafficking. • There are still grade 5-6 students who are non-readers as per teachers’ assessment • Due to poverty, it is normal to see 3 or more families living under one roof • Pasay is awarded as a Child Friendly City

  3. 2004 PAI Research General Findings • Many Out-of-School Youth and Children (OSCY) • Many of the Parents of the OSCY are unemployed • Youth and children are highly at risk to prostitution, gangs, drugs, child labor, child trafficking, etc. CFSI.Rebuilding Lives.

  4. Vision Empowered communities able to move and protect marginalized children and youth, move the most vulnerable ones to mainstream society with dignity and social justice. CFSI.Rebuilding Lives.

Goals • to protect the lives, well-being, and dignity of marginalized children and youth • to prevent children and youth from falling prey to exploitation, prostitution, drugs, etc. • to empower communities to take an active role in protecting marginalized children and youth CFSI.Rebuilding Lives.
