  2. Do Now – 9/12/13 • Come in quietly and sit in your assigned seat. • Sharpen pencils and record daily pay. • Be ready to work on your DGP. It is due on Friday. Both sides of the paper should be completed.

  3. DGP - Thursday, September 12, 2013 • Identify the structure and function of the sentence: Did your dog chew the blue slippers?

  5. Essential Question: • What is a narrative, and what steps should I follow to write one?

  6. Assignment – Periods 1, 4, 5 • Materials managers, get and distribute the literature books. • Whole class read and discuss pp. 506-510. • Write a rough draft of your own, original narrative in your notebook. • Staple your plot map of “Thank You, Ma’am” to the plot map of your own story and put it in the blue “IN” basket. • Meet with a peer to revise and edit your story. You will type a final draft on Friday. Extra Credit - If you finish early, answer the questions on p. 34 (#2, 3, 5, 6) in complete sentences. Remember to write in blue or black ink. Each well-written answer is worth 10 extra credit points.

You may write either in narrative or play format. • Staple your plot map of “Thank You, Ma’am” to the plot map of your own story and put it in the blue “IN” basket. • Meet with a peer to revise and edit your story.
