The Olympic Games • So are you looking forward to the Olympic Games then? • Yeh, I think it’ll be fascinated/ fascinating. • Oh yeh, how come? • Well, so many sports, so many athletes, I’m sure the organisers will feel exhausted/ exhausting and relieved/ relieving after it all. What about you? • I’m thrilled/ thrilling that it’s coming to London, but I’m not sure if I can get any time off from work. I’ve asked my boss but he hasn’t got back to me. It’s all a bit awkward/ awkwardingto be honest. But I do think the whole event will be really impressed/ impressive. • Yeh, but the country will be really embarrassed/ embarrassing if we don’t win any medals right?

Answers • Most people will be eating/ will eat burgers from McDonalds. • McDonalds will be the only restaurant to sell food in the arena. • By the end of it, McDonalds will have sponsored the Olympics for over 30 years • Alcohol will have become a bigger killer than smoking by 2030. • 1000 people will be able to fit inside the big McDonalds at one time. • Even the athletes will be eating/ will eat food from McDonalds. • I imagine the organisers will be happy when it’s all over. • This Olympics will be the greenest Olympics ever. • A number of people will be holding/ will hold a protest on the first day of the Olympics. • By the closing ceremony, the government will have spent 900 million pounds on the Olympic Project.
