  1. 2012 CPS Track and Field Pre-season Meeting Presentation CPS Conference Meets New in 2012 bear with the kinks 2 meet round robin Intent to participate is not mandatory, but those registered must attend meets or be charged a forfeit Host schools will receive $100 to host meets for the official and meet expenses. Officials will be assigned Teams with the best record will be declared champion Conferences are free to construct their own meet schedule and events Conference meet results carry weight in championship seeding Otherwise, conference meets are distinct from the championships

  3. 2012 CPS Track and Field Pre-season Meeting Presentation Indoor Meets 3 groups in 3 meets Take care of the U. of C. facility No food in the track area Do not jepordize our ability to host meets there! Group C is a relay meet. Will take a limited number of individual entries Top teams in C will be considered for promotion to Group B in 2013 Individual medals awarded, one team champion recognized

  4. 2012 CPS Track and Field Pre-season Meeting Presentation Championships Format will stay the same as 2011 Representation from your program is essential at the seed meeting. Legal marks can be attained throughout the season (From January 31 – April 29) Your help with meet duties is as important as ever this year Girls Seed meeting – April 29 Boys Seed meeting – April 30 Girls Trials – May 1 Boys Trials – May 2 Championships– May 5 Note the size of event fields and the automatic qualifying marks may be adjusted for 2012

  5. 2012 CPS Track and Field Pre-season Meeting Presentation Miscellaneous Refer to the Rules and Regulations for additional clarity Charter Schools: Submit eligibility, will work to insert you into a section If you are not a teacher, you should have some type of coaching certification – ASEP , etc. Always have an emergency kit available for all practices and competitions Submit accidents/injuries to IMPACT Don’t transport students without the parent/principal consent as well as the $500,000 insurance liability. Register for Conference participation Group A and B register for the Indoor Meet Coaches’ Clinic – January 28 @ Morgan Park 9:00 – 3:00 Learn by Doing as well as lecture – come ready to workout New Coaches Orientation Meeting
