  2. Verification of Servants • Door to door survey conducted, 543454 houses covered, 76491 servant checked, out of them only 56352 (74%) found to have filled verification form – advisory letters

  3. Verification of Tenants • Door to door survey conducted, 607485 houses covered, 129337 tenants checked, out of them only 63793 (51%) found to have filled verification form – advisory letters

  4. Verification of Senior Citizens • Door to door survey conducted, 505284 houses covered, 31744 Senior citizens found out of them only 8397 have been registered with the Senior Citizen Cell of Delhi Police • Special focus on Security Audit of senior citizens

  5. Checking of Cyber Cafés • 1644 Cyber Cafés operating in Delhi have been identified • Regular checking of these cyber cafés is being done

  8. Checking of Motorcycles For Prevention of Robberies/Snatchings • Checking of ownership document • Assessment of means to purchase/ maintained motorcycle • Discourage use of stolen motor cycles for committing crime

Drive for Verification of Motor Cycles Drive started w.e.f. 18.02.2009 1,87,879Motorcycles have been verified 100 persons have been identified having criminal background 67 criminals have been arrested • Crime on Motorcycle decline in 12th F.N. when compared to 3rd F.N. 43%in Robbery &30%in Snatching

Assistance to victims for providing documents for filing cases with MACT Courts • Web based centralized database of accident cases which will be available to general public on Delhi Police website • Accident investigation cell started to investigate fatal accident cases-headed by Inspector – Pilot project in one district in each Range • One Naib Court in each MACT Court • One as Pairvi Officer for each court premises • A copy of FIR will be sent to MACT Court and to Inspector MACT Cell • Duly filled Form No. 54 will be sent to concerned MACT Courts and insurance companies with relevant documents within 30 days • FIR to reach courts the same day (not later than 24 hours) • Publicity to educate accident victims

Factors responsible for Motor Vehicle Theft • Non availability of parking places in residential areas. • Indifference of owners and police may care attitude • Reluctance towards spending on installation of security devices • Second hand market plays a major role in absorption of stolen vehicles. • Re-registration of stolen vehicle in some states without completion of procedural formalities

  36. Manual maintenance of records by State Transport Authority in most states. Easy to create/alter records Provision of deemed NOC after 30 days if no reply Vehicles stolen from Delhi found disposed in other states/ countries UP, Bihar, West Bengal, J&K, North-East states, Nepal and Bangladesh Non availability of a fixed registration number plate facilitates re-painting in no time.   37. Action initiated by Delhi Police for prevention of M.V. Theft • Identification of affected places and time zone and proper deployment of staff in these areas. • STAs requested not to register second hand vehicles without receiving NOC from the concerned authority. • Manufacturers requested to install security devices at the factory/show room • Record of stolen vehicles has been computerized. • Parking attendants sensitized. • Co-ordination with Insurance Agencies

Gangs of MV Thieves Nabbed • Interstate gang of auto lifters busted (24.05.09) (Crime Branch) • 9 criminals including Moti-ur-Rehman @Moti arrested (four were wanted in MCOCA) • Wanted in over 500 car theft cases • Over 50 cases of Delhi solved • 6 stolen vehicles recovered • Gang of car-jackers/ autolifters busted with the arreste of five criminals including Kuldeep @ Fauji (24.03.09) (Crime Branch) • 7 luxury vehicles recovered • Two criminals namely Mohar Singh and Mukesh arrested (14.05.09) (West District) • 10 cases solved • Four stolen vehicles recovered

Cell) • Four gangsters namely Baljinder Singh, Gajender Singh, Raj Kumar Sharma and Sachin Kumar arrested • Involved in 5 bank robbery cases of UP, Haryana, Delhi and Uttranchal • Rs. 1.48 crore bank robbery of Gurgaon solved • Recovered 3 English Pistols, 13 cartridges and incriminating documents • Satte-Bittoo Gang busted after a shootout at Green Park(19.01.09) (South District) • Six gangsters arrested • Recovered 4 Automatic Pistols with huge quantity of cartridges, many cellular phones, 2 daggers, one robbed Sx4 car, one Maruti Zen, one Honda Accent, one santro and one Motorcycle

Contd.. • Sonu Kharab Gang of robbers busted (28.06.09) (Crime Branch) • Seven cases of sensational robberies of Delhi solved including robbery of Rs. 25 Lacs of Pashchim Vihar • Three gangsters arrested, sophisticated arms & ammunition recovered along with robbed car, property and cash • Recovered cash Rs. 2.60 lakhs, four sophisticated pistols, two extra Magazines, 96 live cartridges, three robbed vehicles including one TATA Safari, one Maruti Swift car, one Wagon-R car and one Karizma Motorcycle • Interstate gang of robbers involved in drugging and looting of containers busted (22.04.09) (Crime Branch) • Three gangsters arrested • Recovered Asian paints goods worth Rs. 10 lakhs
