  1. Please keep your speakers ON

  2. Target Habits and Routines Acquisition Programme • Saven scores reasonably good marks • But his teachers and parents agree that he has a greater potential and can do much better • The strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities of Saven were analysed. • Saven never minds to study for long hours during exam time and the last date of his work submission

  3. Target Habits and Routines Acquisition Programme • He is ambitious and wish to get up at 4:30 AM. Every 15 minutes it rings to help the neighbours too, till he is finally launched from bed, just 30 - 40 minutes before the school bus arrives. • On holidays he can sleep even beyond 12 noon - without any worries of skipping breakfast or lunch.

  4. Target Habits and Routines Acquisition Programme • Once he is off the bed, he is quick, (only) if it is a working day - Many things the way he does reminds me the 1 Minute challenge TV programme: Brushing, dressing, bathing, breakfast and so on… • His study table is more full with gadgets and things he need to use during his leisure / study breaks, than reference books, texts, dictionary etc.

  5. Target Habits and Routines Acquisition Programme • The special strength worth mentioning is his treasure hunting skills – He can search and find his ID Card and things before it is too late – without giving an ear to the background music of his Mom. • At times he pretends to be like Unnikrishnan. A whole full plate of breakfast, he can easily have in one mouth (but we never felt to ask, as we see his globe sized mouth.)

  6. Target Habits and Routines Acquisition Programme • Two newspapers are subscribed when Snehaunty pushed for daily reading and improving vocabulary. May be he is unhappy about the developments around, he never feels like getting a glimpse even. • The recent Science Quiz competition, he attended it without trying to learn even for a minute – as if it is an assessment for his effortless learning experiments.

  7. Target Habits and Routines Acquisition Programme • While I appreciate him for his loving and caring nature, the last minute crisis management skills, etc., I am afraid, he lacks some key qualities and skills that definitely helped us to become what we are now. • I believe, this is not just the case with Saven alone • The Students Self Appraisal Survey, we did for higher Grade students few months back pointed out the dire need for attention of all, and we parents.

  8. Target Habits and Routines Acquisition Programme • Every day, every hour we spent with our children we see their various weaknesses and threats owing from their indisciplined life • We know all these would hinder their progress and adversely impact on their studies and so their future. • We need to push at home to follow time table, some good routines and habits

  9. Target Habits and Routines Acquisition Programme • But I admit, with our own commitments tight work and family schedules, it does not happen. • We know it would get more and more difficult to get them into their right track and our influence on them would further reduce in the years to come. • Sadly, we will not be there always with them - to keep prompting and pushing - as they need to be away for their higher studies, hopefully in the stream they wish.

  10. Target Habits and Routines Acquisition Programme • As a parent who is doing my best for them, it is worrying that there are critical gaps, acute weaknesses and serious threats that remain as obstacles in fulfilling our dreams about them. • By the Grace of God, they are all blessed with lots of potential. Remembering every face right in front of me, I foresee them in great positions with global influence. • We need to help them to manage themselves at any time, at any place.
