  2. Zero Product Property If a • b = 0 then a=0, b=0, or both a and b equal 0.

  3. 1. Solve (x + 7)(x - 4) = 0 Using the Zero Product Property, you know that either x + 7 = 0or x - 4 = 0 Solve each equation. x = -7 or x = 4 {-7, 4}

  4. 2. Solve (3y - 5)(y - 2) = 0 3y - 5 = 0 or y - 2 = 0 3y = 5 or y = 2 y = 5/3 or y = 2 {5/3, 2}
