  2. Governmental Decree Governmental Decree on holding Global Tiger Summit in St. Petersburg was signed by V.PUTIN

  3. Date of Meeting 15th – 18th September 2010 • 2010 is the Year of the Tiger by the Oriental calendar • 2010 is International Year of Biodiversity, declared by the United Nations • - 2010 is very symbolic Year for holding the Global Tiger Summit that joints 400 representatives from 13 Tiger range States and donor States and NGOs

  4. Tentative Schedule • 15th-16th September (a.m.) –Technical Symposium of Tiger Conservation Experts • 16th September (p.m.) –Meeting of Ministers • 17th September– High-level Segment with participation of Heads of Governments of Tiger range Countries • 18th September– Excursion Programme

  5. Envisaged final documents • Global Tiger Recovery Programme (will be agreed by the Summit) • - Declaration of the Heads of Governments of Tiger range Countries (will be signed by the Heads of the Governments)

  6. Path to the Summit • 31 July – draft GTRP distributed to TRCs • 20 August – TRCs provide input to GTI and Russia • Last week of August – meeting of editorial group (1 person per TRC) if needed • Same time – finalising draft Declaration • Question: Status and signatories of GTRP? Approval? Signatures? Openness for partners?

  7. Media Coverage and Public Support for the Summit • - Youth Tiger Summit in Vladivostok (11-18 September 2010) • - Media briefing by the Ministers, media conferences by the Heads of Governments and the Ministers • Teleconference between the Heads of Governmentsin Saint Petersburg and participants of Youth Tiger Summit in Vladivostok • Concert with Russian and foreign popular musicians and actors • Tiger fundraising event • Laser Show • Museums, theaters, other culture programme

  8. Invitations • Invitations for the Heads of Governments were sent trough the Embassies of the RF in the States • Invitations for the Ministers were signed by the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of the RF Yuri Trutnev and sent through diplomatic channels
