  1. Cleaning the Props Room Community Service Done by: Max A., TJ C., Mats K, Chase K, Chris H. (and help from Brad B.)

  2. Formulation • When deciding what to do for our exhibition, our group all came together because all have one common interest: cleaning and organizing!

  3. Main Question • How can our cleaning and organizing living and working spaces make organizations' or people's lives better or more efficient? • How will this community service action be mutually beneficial to both the community and to us?

  4. Our Process • Our group was formed by all of us sharing a connection and love for cleaning and organizing • After researching our options, which ranged from hoarders, to cleaning for non-profits, to cleaning neighborhoods, to helping here at school, we found that the most direct impact we could see and do was to clean the props room here for the Theatre Department.

  5. Planning • We each found a date that worked for us and Ms. Allen, and we planned what we were going to do • We decided that we were going to clear the floor of the room and organize everything to its proper place so finding the props would be much easier than it was then

  6. Before We Cleaned

  7. Mats Kozicz’s Role • I felt that I could help people through my cleaning and organizing • I thought that the props room was a great starting point for my ambitions • I thought it was is important to help out in our community, and I felt important doing this I was making a difference

  8. What Mats Did • I was vital in the role of trash-transportation, taking trash from the props room to the bin or truck • I was the main figure in the role of sweeping, taking all bits, dust, and dirt on the floor and putting it in a proper storage location

  9. Chase’s Role • Organizing the fabric pile: - bins - label maker • Driving to Goodwill: - whole point behind cleaning - giving back to St. Louis

  10. Theatre Class 3 of us are important members of the theatre class We clean the props room once in awhile to be helpful Over the course of the year the room became dirtier With this cleaned, our class is more fun and educational

  11. Shows Two of us are involved in the shows on stage It was always tough to look and find for props making time unproductive Now that it is clean, finding props is faster, more fun, and more efficient

  12. Organizing

  13. Our Final Result!

  14. After the Cleaning • After cleaning, we took anything that Ms. Allen deemed unnecessary to Goodwill to be donated. • We loaded everything into Chase’s truck and went to Goodwill. • We donated: many different clothes, a rocking chair, a full spring board for a mattress, and a few bags of costumes.
