  2. On July 12, 1916, I was born in Belaya Tserkov.

  3. I moved to Kiev when I was 14

  4. I worked at the Kiev Arsenal as a grinder until I finished my 10th year of education While in school I was a member of the local Komsomol and its OSOAVIAKhIM organization. I received military instruction courses. I earned a coveted Voroshilov Sharpshooter badge in regional rifle matches.

  5. In 1937 I was accepted to the Shevchenko State History University in Kiev as an undergraduate. When World War Two came I had finished four years at the university.

  6. I volunteered in 1941 for war service I was accepted into the 54th Rifles Regiment of the 25th Rifle Division. I was made a private in the regiment's 2nd company sniper platoon.

  7. After 250 days, I was promoted to Junior Lieutenant By June 1942 I have over 309 confirmed kills

  8. I was wounded by a mortar blast in 1942 I was the first soviet citizen to be received by President Roosevelt in the White House.
