  1. Indoor Rock Climbing Edinburgh

  2. Exciting Indoor Rock Climbing Centres in Edinburgh? Scotland’s elegant capital city, Edinburgh, boasts amazing places of interest and beautiful attractions. We love the medieval allure, the neoclassical buildings, and astounding history of this incredible metropolis. But if you’re here for something a bit more adventurous, we highly recommend indoor rock climbing. There are lots of places you can try out; and in case you didn’t know, Edinburgh is home to the world’s largest climbing centre, so what are you waiting for? Edinburgh International Climbing Arena

  3. Located in Ratho, just minutes away from Edinburgh, the fabulous climbing arena is the city’s finest adventure centres. Hundreds of routes are available at the EICA, each with its own theme and level of difficulty. Apart from amazing climbing walls, you are invited try out bouldering, clip ‘n climbing, scrambling, bouncing, and more. The EICA is an entertainment mecca where everyone is welcome. Families with kids, teens, youngsters, beginners, and experienced hikers populate this place daily, making it fun, attractive and incredibly engaging.

  4. Edinburgh’s Climbing Arena is a social venue with colourful playgrounds, ropes and rocks, playgrounds, and soft play areas where toddlers can make new friends. The Clip ‘n Climb section is preferred by kids because it’s cool, vivid, and quite entertaining. Don’t worry parents, your kids are safe and sound no matter how high they choose to climb! If bouldering or indoor rock climbing are not your cup of tea, the EICA has a fitness and gym studio, an arts & crafts studio for smaller tots, and a café where you relax and talk about your experience on the ropes with your friends and family.

  5. Clip ‘n Climb at the EICA We already mentioned Clip ‘n Climb, but we believe this amazing entertainment venue deserves to be mentioned in detail. Located within the International Climbing Arena, the area is cleverly designed to redefine conventional indoor rock climbing. Both adults and children are invited to try it out. There are 3 sections available: Hop ‘n Drop, Leap ‘n Laugh, and Slide ‘n Scream. All of them are insane! Scramble and clamber up and down, surpassing the numerous obstacles, and then move on to the Leap ‘n Laugh which is total different but equally enticing. Here you’ll have to walk and climb the several obstacles of different shapes and sizes. Sessions last 1 hour, and there are 20 places that you can explore at Clip ‘n Climb. As opposite to conventional indoor rock climbing at the EICA, this section is hands down the coolest.

  6. Alien Rock is Scotland’s first indoor rock climbing centres. It opened its doors back in 1994, and in 2001 they opened a second Alien Rock that emphasizes more on bouldering and smaller walls for complete beginners. The friendly venue – which was once a church - offers a fantastic combination of climbing surfaces for its enthusiastic attendees. Many of them are truly unique. From easy slabs and funky bouldering to challenging overhangs, Alien Rock has something for everyone. To keep things interesting, most routes are changed every 4 months. Over 200 climbing routes are available, 40 top-rope lines and 12 overhanging lead lines. If you’re experienced, you can try out the matted bouldering wall (4.8 m high), which doesn’t come with a rope. Before being allowed on the premises, everyone must fill out a form and state whether they’re beginners or experts. Don’t worry newbies, there are courses you can take to help perfect your skills! Edinburgh may not have tens of indoor rock climbing centres like London or Manchester. Nevertheless, the two available are enough. We guarantee! We did mention that the EICA is Europe’s largest, so what more can you ask for?
