About the Organization Vision: The Texas A&M University Residence Hall Association strives to represent the concerns of on-campus students, seeks to preserve the spirit and traditions of on-campus housing through building community in and among the residence halls by providing opportunity for intellectual, cultural, social and leadership development.

About the Organization Mission: The Texas A&M University Residence Hall Association is a representative organization that empowers on-campus residents to play an active role in residence halls through service, educational and social programming, and leadership opportunities. RHA also enacts change through legislation and advocates the issues and concerns of residents with the ultimate goal of making the residence halls of Texas A&M University a more respectful and united community.

  5. Organizational Diagram Executive Vice President: Help foster a community of involvement and activity by providing encouragement, resources and financial support to the overall organization. In addition, dedicating time to assist members on a one-on-one basis to aid in finding their passion and “nitch” within RHA. President: Continue the legacy of success by representing and serving the voice of the on campus community to the administration. Challenge the organization’s leadership to enhance current projects and traditions. Plus, provide the overall vision and direction of the organization Innovation and Creativity The campus team is a collaboration of students in the on-campus community that take an active role on campus through the planning and execution of different programs. These programs include service, educational, leadership, and social projects. We keep the energy high by keeping the action rolling everyday from the start of the year to the finish of the year. Conference delegations should strive to seek out recognition of efforts and new opportunities and methods for intellectual, cultural, social, and leadership development while representing the Texas A&M values at the state, regional, national, and international level by purposefully engaging and introducing other delegates to the Aggie Spirit and culture.

  6. Marketing and Communications Team Vision: The Marketing and Communications Team strives to improve the awareness and image of RHA. The members advertise the planned programs and initiatives. We ensure marketing efforts through spoken, texted, e-mailed, and printed.

Marketing and Communications • Form and manage a communications and marketing team • Develop marketing strategies to unify and improve the image of RHA • Coordinate meeting spaces and times with the appropriate departments • Develop and revise the RHA Operations Manual • Develop and update RHA technologies (listservs, newsletters, podcasts, website) • Coordinate mass marketing efforts • Act as a liaison to connect the visions and efforts of the various teams • Consistency in marketing • Be certain that as many people as possible will hear about what we do • Service • Campus wide recognition/respect of RHA

  9. Policy and Advocacy Team Vision: To represent the concerns of on-campus residents by functioning as a liaison between RHA and External affairs. In addition, to developing action plans based on student concern and interests.

Policy and Advocacy • Form and manage a policy and advocacy team consisting of: residents, student senators, sustainability chair, and diversity chair • Represent RHA at non-RHA meetings pertaining to residents • Create focus groups • Collaborate with student government on policies that impact residents • Develop action plans that address issues identified by residents • Develop fall and spring election policies • Update and revise the RHA constitution and bylaws

Campus Programs Team Vision: The campus programs team is a collaboration of students in the on-campus community that take an active role on campus through the planning and execution of different programs. These programs include service, educational, leadership, and social projects. We keep the energy high by keeping the action rolling everyday from the start of the year to the finish of the year.

  16. Additional Information The Campus Programs team has a fluid structure. This fluidity enables students to find their niche within the team. Team members can choose to stay with or pick a different task. This will cause a rotation of certain tasks to different people. That way there is no stagnation within the team.

Campus Programs • Appoint project leaders for campus wide events • Guide project leaders in planning and implementation • Coordinate and execute campus-wide community building events (such as AggieFest, Community Development Workshops, and Diversi-Tee) • Ensure necessary paperwork and processes are followed • Involve RHA in the Aggieland Yearbook • Create and execute fundraising opportunities in RHA and in residence halls

Campus Programs • Work on cohesion and efficiency in organizing and implementing events • Work closely with the Vice President of Innovation and Creativity for ideas to make the campus programs more interesting and innovative • Ensure there is adequate amount of time for planning and execution of programs • The VPCP will work with the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) to have OTMs and bids constantly written. • OTMS will be submitted weekly • Bids will be submitted monthly

  20. Innovation and Creativity Team Vision: The Innovation and Creativity team strives to improve the current residence hall association in many new and exciting ways. We allow creative and innovative ideas, that could possibly form new traditions on campus, to flow from all our residents. We hear, understand, and apply positive changes in our residence life community.

Innovation and Creativity • Create a fun, inviting environment for all members of the residence community • Work with other Vice Presidents and their teams • Coming up with creative ways to conduct meetings • Find out ways to keep up with the changes of tomorrow • Create awareness of any needed changes to create an inclusive environment for all residents regardless of their differences.

  23. Executive Vice Present Team Vision: The Financial Liaison Team aspires to effectively manage the finances of each residence hall while being knowledgeable about financial resources. The members of this team will act as the primary financial officer within their hall and also follow Residence Hall Association protocol through frequent meetings, correspondence, and otherwise.

Executive Vice President • Work with the President to develop the RHA budget • Maintain the RHA budget • Create and disperse meeting agendas and minutes • Handle the organizations finances • Encourage and support the Executive Facilitator Team • Ensure goal attainment for all of the Executive Team • Work with Vice Presidents and Project Leaders to develop individual program budgets

President • Assessing the performance of the Vice Presidents • Challenging and supporting the different RHA teams to accomplish their outcomes • Communicating with Department of Residence Life Administration and the RHA Advisor • Representing the on-campus community at campus functions • Responsible for making decisions for the general welfare of the organization not otherwise stated in RHA’s governing documents.
