Advising is an integral part of a student’s academic success. The university
has developed an advising structure that assists students with a smooth
transition as they progress from their first year to the second year and beyond
to their graduating semester.
You have been admitted to the University of Central Florida, NOT to the College of Business.
The College of Business is a “Restricted Access” college. To officially be admitted to the College of Business, students MUST complete all of the General Education Program Requirements, all Business Common Program Prerequisites, Gordon Rule Requirement, CLAST, and have an overall minimum 2.0 GPA or higher.

Action taken when a student’s UCF GPA drops below 2.0. Academic Probation will continue until the UCF GPA reaches a 2.0 or better.
A student on academic probation is disqualified upon failure to achieve a minimum 2.0 GPA during the subsequent term. A student who is disqualified may not enroll at the University for two semesters following disqualification. Readmission after two semesters is not automatic. Disqualified students are required to complete the Florida AA degree and all of the College of Business prerequisites prior to petitioning for readmission.
Exclusion is most serious and students are not eligible for readmission after Exclusion.
Students in the Accounting major must maintain a 2.0 or higher
GPA average in all 3000-4000 level Accounting or Tax courses
taken at UCF. Failure to Maintain the required 2.0 GPA will
result in the student being placed on lack of progress in the
major. If a student on lack of progress in the major fails to
achieve a 2.0 minimum GPA in Accounting or Tax courses in a
subsequent term, that student will be dropped as an Accounting
major. Readmission is not automatic and must be petitioned
through the Accounting Department.
