Voluntary work, well defined rules • All members of CECE participate on a voluntary basis: no agreement on common behavior or common decisions against competitors • Groups gathering in CECE should be aware of competition rules and respect them. • Exchange of confidential information on prices or marketing plans isforbidden! Agreements to excludecompetitors are forbidden All behaviourscausingdistortions of marketcompetition are forbidden!

Statistics: voluntary and compliant • Statistics on product groups are run by CECE • Main statistical Committee at CECE defines the rules and frequency for statistics reporting • Data are collected by manufacturers directly • Only those providing data receive reports on statistics: • Great incentives for SMEs • Always in compliance: for each product MORE than 2 manufacturers have to report. If not, NO Statistics

Technical Work: common work and objectives, no exchange of confidential information • Stardisation: voluntary path to comply with the mandatory legislation • CECE works on standards to agree on state of the art technology (work in CEN, UNECE etc) • BUT standard remain only one option, companies can develop their own way within or outside of CECE

  15. Self regulation work on policies and communication • Agree on positions. Common messages to be conveyed to the EU institutions on : • Environmental topics, • Market surveillance, • External trade negotiations.
