1. LOCATION • The Serra de Tramuntana is a mountain range of southwest-northeast which forms the northern backbone of the Spanish island of Mallorca.
INTERESTING SURROUNDING PLACES • There are many places that are frequented by tourists visiting our island, most are of British nationality and other Nordic countries.The places they visit are among others in the Sierra de Tramuntana, and amongst these municipalities as Escorca, Soller, Fornalutx, Deia and, many other municipalities.
PUIG MAJOR • The Tramuntana range mountains is like many others, in the Tramuntana range is the Puig Major who is at an altitude of 1455 meters above the sea, and is located in the municipality of Escorca.
THE CLIMATE • The climate of the Sierra de Tramuntana is different from the rest of the island, because being the most high, the clouds pass over the height of the mountain and this is the rainiest area and therefore is the wettest and cold, is the only area of the island it snows, and the climate in summer is very hot because the humidity and wind is almost never.
3. FAUNA • Eagle is the name given to predatory birds and the largest of which is protected in the mountains north of Mallorca.Las eagles are mainly characterized by its large size, strong constitution and heavier head and bill.Like all birds of prey, eagles have a large beak, powerful and pointed to loosen the flesh of their prey. They also have tarsal claws and powerful. Also called attention to the power of the eagles, which allows them to prey in flight lift much heavier than themselves. 4. THE MONASTERY IN LLUC • The monastery is the Sanctuary of Santa María de Lluch, the patron saint of Mallorca, which is located in the municipality of Escorca about 400 meters, in full Tramontana range. Is also considered a school where students recycle called Lluc Blavets.

8. THE HYDROLOGICAL LANDSCAPE • In all our mountains abound a large number of sources and streams that gradually become torrents, which are dry most of the year.Across the island, we can only find two reservoirs, the Cuber and Gorg Blau, which are located in the communes of Escorca.
9. CUSTOMS AND TRADITIONS • The traditions that we know best are going fishing, going hunting, going to pick mushrooms and go to take land snails. And suppose many others, which we do not know.
10. WALKING ROUTES • Because of the grandaria of the mountains, there are many routes, some longer and other accomplices. All these, are properly marked indicating its length, difficulty and travel.The best known are those who climb the highest peaks, with the exception of the famous Pareis down the torrent.
