  1. Plan on Run #1526, 27, 28 February Shinji Machida ASTeC/STFC/RAL 23 February 2011

  2. Aims • Restore the previous beam. • Rf commissioning: tuning of individual cavity phase. • Measure 1) time of flight, 2) tune, 3) COD at several (equivalent) momenta between 12.5 and 18.5 MeV/c. • Deceleration/acceleration.

  3. Beam requirement • ALICE 12.5 MeV/c beam. • 1 bunch, 3 Hz • 40 pC • Small momentum spread

  4. Run #15Saturday 26 February, shift 2 • Master timing has been changed. 20 ms delay is introduced. • Connect Ch2-septum, Ch1-kicker1, Ch4-kicker2, Ch3-BPM-E23 and AUX-BPM-EMI to adjust timing with Lecroy scope. • Make sure which cable (length) is used for these signals. • Swap septum cable with ALICE-RF after adjusting timing.

  5. Run #15Saturday 26 February, shift 2 (continued.) • Establish 18.5 MeV/c equivalent beam for many turns for the first step. • Establish 16.5 MeV/c equivalent beam for many turns if there is enough (2~3 hours) time before 16:00. • Measure COD of 16.5 MeV/c. • Keep the same QD/QF ratio. • Peter Williams, Ian Kirkman and who else?

  6. Run #15Saturday 26 February, shift 3 • Swap ALICE-RF to EMMA-RF in Ch2 of Lecroy scope. • Back to 18.2 (18.5) MeV/c equivalent momentum. • Measurement of beam loading from splitter signal. • Phase tuning of individual cavity by beam loading signal. • (Stephen), Bruno, Alan and who else?

  7. Run #15Sunday 27 February, shift 2 • Measure COD of 16.5 MeV/c if it was not done on the previous day. • With different QD/QF ratio, measure 1) time of flight, 2) tune, 3) COD at several (equivalent) momenta between 12.5 and 18.5 MeV/c. • Ben, Bruno, Shinji (from 13:00) and who else?

  8. Run #15Sunday 27 February, shift 3 • Back to 18.2 (18.5) MeV/c equivalent momentum. • Measurement of beam loading from splitter signal. • Phase tuning of individual cavity by beam loading signal. • Yuri, David, Alan, Shinji and who else?

  9. Run #15Monday 28 February, shift 2 • Back to 18.2 (18.5) MeV/c equivalent momentum. • Global phase scan. • Capture a beam in an rf bucket. • Estimate net rf voltage. • Frank Jackson, Philippe Goudket, David, Shinji and who else? • Switch off ALICE/EMMA around 13:00 for visitors.

  10. Run #15Monday 28 February, shift 3 • Back to 18.2 (18.5) MeV/c equivalent momentum. • Phase tuning of individual cavity by beam loading signal if necessary. • Global phase scan. • Capture a beam in an rf bucket. • Deceleration from 18.5 MeV/c or acceleration from 12.5 MeV/c. • James, David, Alan, Shinji and who else?

  11. Run #167, 8, 9 10 March • Test of extraction system. • Tuning of diagnostics line. • Bruno, James and who else?
