This paper aims to show how technology is fundamentally changing the profession of architecture to address improvements in efficiency and code performance while producing structures that are intelligent and capable of evolving. From modeling of physical structures to the use of modern technology, these innovations are revolutionalizing the planning and design, construction and use of buildings. There is an overriding focus on Building Information Modeling (BIM) this is a technology that enable architects to generate and explore three dimensional models of structures. Architects use BIM to get an early idea of complex designs to be implemented, identify problems that are likely to arise during implementation and then fix them before the construction process starts. The page shows that this technology improves the reliability of the work done and makes it possible for architects to deliver the projects on schedule and at affordable price.

  3. A new aspect of designing is the integration of virtual reality or as it is commonly referred to as VR. The application of VR technology allows the clients to envision their future space in detail, and move through and experience it as if in real life, to get a feel for how the building will look like, how it will be lit and the overall atmosphere of the interior. This interactive approach helps increase client satisfaction since there is little misunderstanding, and serves to reduce the possibility of a client not getting what they wanted for the project.
