  1. NIAGARA PAINTING CONTRACTORS ISSUES FACED BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER A PAINTING WORK CRACKING Cracking is characterized by splits in dry paint after at least a single coat. It might also occur if the second coat has been applied before the first has dried up completely. Scrap and sand the affected areas and then apply a layer of the right primer before repainting it over with good quality paint. BLISTERING Blistering occurs when bubbles are formed in the underlying surface of your paint, probably due to moisture drainage, caused due to recoating before drying up of the first layer, or painting during high humidity levels. MILDEW/MOULD Mildew/Mould is a fungus that causes grey, brown, black and green spots growing on the surface. It tends to grow in the areas that are exposed to high moisture levels or have a lack of proper sunlight or ventilation. WRINKLING OR SHRIVELLING Chalking is a phenomenon when loosely- based powder is formed over painted walls. It may be caused when low-quality paint is used that has higher pigment extender levels. YELLOWING Yellowing occurs in low-sunlight regions, and therefore, it is best to avoid using oil- based or alkyd paints on these surfaces. Go for acrylic paints in such cases. PEELING The peeling-off of an outer coat of paint from an older layer is a common problem in every household or office space. This happens when there is a lack of proper adhesion between a paint coating and a substrate. HTTPS://NIAGARAMODERNPAINTING.COM/
