  1. Le présent The present tense of a verb indicates that something is happening nowor that you or someone else currently does something (even if you are not doing it right this minute). For example: I might say that I run, but I am not doing it right at this moment. (I am showing a PowerPoint presentation).

  2. Formation of le présent With all verbs (in most languages) you have to “conjugate the verb”. This means that the spelling or arrangement of the verb must be changed so that the verb works better in the sentence depending on who is performing the action of the verb. Example: verb: to be ►conjugation : I am… But that’s not all…you will need to know all of the subject pronouns to conjugate the verbs…

  3. Subject Pronouns You need to know the subject pronouns. These are the words that are used to replace the name of someone in a sentence. It is the subject of the sentence who is doing the verb. je = I nous = we tu = you (inf./sing.) vous = you (pl./form.) il/elle = he/she ils/elles = they Example: Jejoue au basket. = Iplay basketball.
