  15. Email Encryption • Clear text email not secure • subject to malicious interference • Best practise is encrypt for sensitive or personal data • Alternative option is use a type of Gateway to Gateway email encryption such as Transport Layer Security (TLS) • ESB have the facility to set up TLS links between ESB and specific external email Domains • In order for this to work effectively these Domains must also have a TLS enabled email gateway

  16. Benefits of TLS • Stronger Security - Encrypts every part of all messages When using TLS the text of the email and the attachment are encrypted this offers stronger security than simply using a product like Axcrypt or Winzip which will encrypt the email attachment but not the email text. • Automated Encryption TLS offers Gateway to Gateway email encryption which means that all emails sent from the ESB Domain to nominated external Domain(s) will automatically be encrypted, this removes the manual encryption step necessary when encrypting email attachments.  • Cost There should not be any additional costs where the mail Gateway already uses TLS technology.

  19. WP001 Message Resend Working Practice Basis for amendment: • The new Tibco based EMMA has the additional functionality of an Archive folder • Therefore messages received on the EMMA will be stored there unless they have been deleted • Instances of message resends should therefore be the exception At Today’s IGG Meeting: • Approval for WP001 V1.4 Requested

  20. Basis of amendment to Message Resend Working Practice WP001 • Messages which have been received to the EMMA but subsequently deleted from both the inbound and archive folders will be treated on a case by case basis. • In some instances the message can be re created and resent • For situations where the MP has lost previously received messages, there are a number of methods which may be used depending on the scenario; • NMS can resend the XML via an email • The EMMA database can be updated to allow a the message with the same transaction reference number to be resent.

  21. Screen shot of archive folder structure As this is a windows based application, normal windows searching will work.

  25. Harmonised Market Release 2013 • Revised date for June 2013 to be agreed with all parties i.e. NIE, ESBN, and Market Participants • Influencing factors in relation to the June 2013 date: • Requirement for delivery of Automated Debt Flagging Solution for RoI • Delay to Go-Live date for H&SP • Potentially one Release only feasible in 2013 • Cognisant of MPs preference for not at month end however • Consideration needs to be given to fact that this is the lst Harmonised Release • Date for availability of schema changes to be agreed • Revised date for Approval by Regulators at HSG 14/11/2012 • HWG MPs requested to forward feedback on proposed new date to HRDS by 6/11/2012

Harmonised Market Release 2013 Prioritisation of approved MCRs • Contact names to be forwarded to HRDS not later than 1st November • List of MCRs to issue from HRDS by 2nd November • Lists will contain schema and non-schema RoI MCRs • CDA will manage the non schema NI changes Ranking of MCRs • Rank in order of preference i.e. 1 – 8 [7 schema and 1 non schema change] • Items for which MPs have no preference should be scored as 0 • Points will be assigned based on MP rankings – 8 points for 1st ranked, 7 points for 2nd ranked etc • Analysis will be performed once results are returned to HRDS N.B Highly ranked MCR in no way assumes automatic implementation Lists of prioritised MCRs to be returned to HRDS by 8th November
