Notes on le futur. To say you will do something in the future, for an – er verb or ir verb… Leave the er or ir ending ! Then add the endings – ai , -as, -a, - ons , - ez , - o nt Ex. Il regarde la télé aujourd’hui . – He watches TV today.

  1. Notes on le futur • To say you will do something in the future, for an –erverb or ir verb… • Leave the eror ir ending! • Then add the endings –ai, -as, -a, -ons, -ez, -ont Ex. Il regarde la téléaujourd’hui. – He watches TV today. Il regardera la télésamedi. –He will watch TV Saturday. • For –re verbs, drop the final e, then add the same endings. Ex. Nous perdrons le match de football. We will lose the soccer game.

  2. For irregular verbs, the endings are the same, but the stem will change… • Etre = ser ex. Je serai médecin un jour. I will be a doctor one day. • Avoir= aur ex. Tu auras un million de dollars quand tu gagneras le loto. – You will have a million dollars when you will win the lottery. • Faire= fer – Nous ferons du ski en hiver. We will do skiing in winter. • Aller= ir – Ils iront à la plage en été. – They will go to the beach in summer.
