Soccer is the worlds most played sport. • The Fifa World Cup is played every four years. • The English invented soccer. • Every team has two goalkeepers and one on the field at a time. • There are 32 teams competing in the world cup this year. • Every world cup the countries are put into groups. • These groups are A-H (8 groups). • Each group has four countries. • Group A has: South Africa, Mexico, Uruguay and France. • Group B has: Argentina, Nigeria, South Korea and Greece. • Group C has: England, United States, Algeria and Slovenia • Group D has: Germany, Australia, Serbia and Ghana. • Group E has: Netherlands, Denmark, Japan and Cameroon. • Group F has: Italy, Paraguay, New Zealand and Slovakia. • Group G has: Brazil, North Korea, Cote d’lvoire and Portugal. • Group H has: Spain, Switzerland, Honduras and Chile. • There is a foul called a offside. • A yellow card means to get a freekick. • A freekick is when you get to kick the ball with out any player distracting you. • A penalty is when you try score a goal in one shot and only the goalkeeper is in the way of the goals. • A red card is when you are disqualified for the game. • Soccer is played with one soccer ball. • Soccer is also called football in other countries. • This year the Fifa World Cup is held in South Africa. • In soccer you are not aloud to touch the ball with you hands. • Only goalkeepers can touch the ball with their hands. • On soccer boots they have spikes on the bottom. • Every world cup, every country gets new jerseys. • Australia's new is blue, yellow and black. 40 Facts About Soccer:
