  1. Changes to devtis.uwsa.edu(static pages)

  2. Summary • Static pages on http://devtis.uwsa.edu/ are no longer pointing at the same source as static pages on acctis and (production) TIS. • devtis static pages are now running from a separate (development) instance of MODX. • The pages all currently looks the same, because the entire resource tree was duplicated. • Changes to the resources in “devtis MODX” will only affect the static pages at devtis.uwsa.edu.

  3. Why? • For now, running a separate MODX instance on devtis provides a “sandbox” area for learning and experimenting with MODX (without affecting production TIS). • Later, having a separate development area might become a part of the workflow for handling draft changes to published pages.

  4. Old Setup • devtis, acctis, and production TIS each use a separate database & Tomcat application for Wizards & Maintenance pages • devtis, acctis, and production TIS share the same set of static pages

  5. New Setup • devtis, acctis, and production TIS STILL each use a separate database & Tomcat application for Wizards & Maintenance pages (no change) • acctis and production TIS share the same set of static pages (MODX) • devtis.uwsa.edu uses a separate set of static pages (Separate MODX instance)

  6. Two MODX instances • http://devtis.uwsa.edu/managerDevelopment static pages pages • http://tis.uwsa.edu/managerProduction (& acctis) static pages
