WP 2.1 - Articulation with EU NCP and LA NIP activities (DLR/CONACYT) • Organisation of the first workshop • Objectives: exchange experiences; discuss and plan further EULARINET activities supporting the Latin American NCPs/NIPs, developing an Action Plan • Target group: EULARINET consortium (especially NCPs/NIPs) • Future workshops and activities to take place in LA and to include NIPs from non-EULARINET countries as well! WP 2.1 - Articulation with EU NCP and LA NIP activities (DLR/CONACYT) • Approach: • few LA responses to INCONTACT questionnaire (summer 2008) • change of plan: shorter questionnaire based on the INCONTACT one sent to the consortium in winter 2009  background information on current situation and existing NIP/ NCP structures • close cooperation with INCONTACT preparing the workshop  making use of their expertise Internationales Büro des BMBF - Forschung und Bildung weltweit vernetzen

WP 2.1 - Articulation with EU NCP and LA NIP activities (DLR/CONACYT) • Workshop topics •  based on first overview of LA strengths, needs and priority interests: • “Strengths, weaknesses and challenges” • introduction and tour de table • discussion on NCP structures and integration in own country/ LA • short presentation of results from questionnaires “NCPs as mediators between EU and national research priorities” • working groups on • Creating networks • Core activities of NCP work • Establishing NCP structures Internationales Büro des BMBF - Forschung und Bildung weltweit vernetzen

WP 2.1 - Articulation with EU NCP and LA NIP activities (DLR/CONACYT) • Expected outcome: • “A roadmap for future activities” • presentation of the results from working groups • outline of a roadmap and planning further activities •  to be elaborated after the workshop and to be subsequently distributed to the consortium for discussion.
