The 2020 RDAWhat’s next? • Modification will continue for • Minor editorial changes • Correction of typos and errors • Consistency • Better wording to support translations • Other changes, if • No significant impact on translators, policy statement writers, etc. • No effect on the outcome of application of the isntructions • Addition and revision of examples • Improvements/additions to the Toolkit interface Cataloging with RDA 1 - Background - ULA, 15 May 2019
The 2020 RDAWhat’s next? • The “beta” version of RDA is not official yet • First, the following must happen: • Completion of key translations (Finnish, French, German, Spanish)—goal: December 2019 • Completion and publication of Policy Statements—goal: February 2020 • RSC and RDA Board must unanimously agree that the 3R Project (RDA & Toolkit revision) is complete • When that declaration is made, a one year countdown clock begins • Original Toolkit will remain up for one year, after which it will be taken down • PCC and others (national libraries, other agencies) will set a date of implementation Cataloging with RDA 1 - Background - ULA, 15 May 2019
