Answers: • The Constitution of the Czech Republic lays down the division of the Czech republic into basic and higher territorial self-goverment units + military domains. • The region isa geographically defined community of citizenswhich has the right to self-government. It is administred independently by the regional council with independent competence. • There are 14 higher self-governing units • The independent competence of regional councils includes for ex.management of the region, budget of the region,monetary funds of the region,programme of regional development,submiting bills to the Chamber of Deputies, submitting proposals to the Constitutional Court etc.
