  2. Weather The condition of air at a certain time or place.

  3. Climate The weather patterns in one place over a long period of time.

  4. Precipitation The amount of moisture that falls as rain or snow.

  5. Temperature A measurement telling how hot or cold something is.

  6. Humidity The amount of moisture in the air.

  7. Equator The imaginary line that circles the center of the Earth from East to West.

  8. Elevation How high a place is above sea.

  9. Tropical Climate An area that is usually very warm all year.

  10. Polar Climate Areas around the North Pole and the South Pole with the coldest temperatures.

  11. Sub arctic Climate An area with short ,warm summers and grounds covered in snow for most of the year.

  12. Temperate Climate Moderate area between the tropical and the sub arctic climates.

  13. What is the difference between weather and climate? Weather is for a daily condition in an area. Climate is for along time in an area.

  14. What are two major factors of weather? Two major factors of weather are temperature and precipitation.

  15. What are three factors that affect the climate? One is How far you are from the equator because the sun’s rays shine directly on it. Also, another is how you are from a large body of water because land heats and cools faster than water. The last one is elevation because the higher you go the colder it gets and the lower you go, the warmer it gets.
