  4. What is Quality ? Quality is to be • Felt by all the stake holders • Visible every where • A continuous process

Quality Assurance Principles (some major) • Focus:on safeguarding the interests of the major stakeholders; • Involvement:Participation of all who are involved in the process of • Purpose: Quality assurance is not to prove anything but to improve; • Commitment: Commitment to continuous improvement; • Continuity:Quality Assurance is a dynamic and continuous process

Quality Assurance Principles (some major) • Flexibility:QA system need to be flexible enough to accept and accommodate feedback from a variety of internal and external constituencies; • Fairness:Decisions and measures taken to redress problems and improve the process need to be supported by adequate information and evidences; • Transparency: QA system need to be transparent in all aspects of its activities including the academic and financial matters.

Role of IQAC • To execute the IQAC activities in the University • To develop action plan for IQAC activities • To develop awareness in the University about quality culture • To motivate the faculty members and staff in the IQAC activities • To communicate with VC, QAC and SAC for establishing IQAC in the University • To motivate the self assessment activities • To assist in report preparation and submission

Self-Assessment (SA): Definition • SA is a systematic process of gathering, reviewing and using important quantitative and qualitative information from multiple and diverse sources. • It’s about educational programs, for the purpose of improving student learning, and evaluating whether academic and learning standards are being met.

  10. Self-Assessment Committee (SAC) • The SAC will function its activities for one year. • In this period, the SAC will conduct the self assessment, • Submit the Self Assessment Report (SAR), • Facilitate the external peer review • And finally prepare an improvement plan

  11. THE PROCESS: Planning the SA

THE PROCESS: Carrying out the SA • Inception workshop for awareness building • Prepare and customize the SA tools • Arrange workshop with different stakeholders • Prepare Work Plan for SA Activities • Conduct SA Survey by SA Committee • Write the initial SA report and share • Endorsement by the Head of the Entity

  13. THE PROCESS: Preparing for External Review • Director IQAC will take initiative for external peer review • External peer review will be completed in stipulated time • SA committee will arrange an exit meeting for finalizing the SA report

  14. THE PROCESS: Moving Forward Post-audit • SA Committee will submit the final report to IQAC director • Director will send the report to QAU, UGC • Implementation of IQAC plan in the next 4 years
