  4. commotion Would a playground be a place where there might be a commotion? Why or why not? What kind of weather might cause a commotion and wake you up at night? Name some places where you would NOT expect a commotion.

  5. muffle When you muffle a sound, you cover it up so it is not so loud.

  6. muffle The woman was able to muffle her laughter by stuffing her scarf in her mouth. Which sound would you try to muffle- beautiful music or a noisy lawn mower? Explain.

Name a place where you might need to muffle your voice. How could you muffle the sound? Think of a loud sound you would like to muffle. Demonstrate what that noise would sound like when it was muffled.
