  1. Christ’s rescue births and fuels his Church’s persistence.

  2. Every church has two addresses, dual citizenship.

  3. What the world most needs, Christ’s Church has:

  4. What the world most needs, Christ’s Church has: • Faith that works • Love that labors • Hope that endures

  5. We reach up in faith, out in love, and move forward in hope.

  6. Hope is hearing the melody of the future. Faith is dancing to it. Love is dancing to it with others.

  7. Christ’s rescue inspires his Church’s imitation.

  8. Christ’s rescue resounds in his Church’s clear echo.

  9. The Lord’s message rang out from you…your faith in God has become known everywhere. Rang out = echo

  10. The most effective means of echoing the good news is holy gossip!

  11. Two great changes mark God’s rescued ones: • Turning from dead idols to the living God.

  12. Two great changes mark God’s rescued ones: • Turning from dead idols to the living God. • Waiting for God’s Son to return from heaven.

  13. Christians are waiting for another leader, the only One who will rescue us from the coming wrath.

  14. God’s wrath is his personal emotion with regard to sin; his perfect abhorrence and hatred of sin.

  15. If God were not a God of wrath, he would not be a God of love.

  16. This is how we grow stronger: • Receive Christ’s rescue • Imitate his ways • Anticipate his return.
