STORY OF SIDE TABLES The tables were first created during the ancient Rome and Egypt era, these tables were used in the dining area and playing area. They were mostly made of wood and they use to be huge. Egyptian tables were mostly used for board games they were known as senet the board that was used to play the game was crafted on stone. The other tables were known as offering tables which use to be small in size. Now, each of these tables has its names and values. The materials used to make tables were wood and marble, among them marble was the most valued as they were only used in palaces or rich person's houses, and the marble side tables were used as offering tables. They use to keep plates and other items. The Greece and Rome tables were four-legged tables and even slab side tables which were also known as altars. They use to have a round top and were highly used for dining tables. There are even some historical pictures. Where some people are having dinner on small round tables and larger tables are used for more than six people at a time. The solid marble end tables were used for games as the snake was crafted on the tabletop for board games. The Greece tables were somewhat similar to Rome with a slight difference that is Greece tables use to have one leg at the center and three or four legs around it. They invented small tables that were much similar to modern tables such as side tables. They were small with decorative usage and round- tabletop and supported by columns either one or two or with human or mythological sculptures as support figures. The Roman tables were known as Mensa Lunata they later became popular in Italy. The western tables were of basic tables. They were wooden boards supported by trestles that date backs to the medieval era. They were only used at mealtimes and after that, they were kept aside when not in use for storage reasons.
