  1. Care instructions for matte and glossy furniture Always remember to not place hot items directly onto painted or High Gloss surfaces as this can cause irreparable damage. For example electrical items like toasters or Television used on painted or High Gloss surfaces for prolonged periods can cause scorching. If your wood furniture has an oiled finish you will need to ‘polish it with linseed oil every 3-4 months. Do not forget to dispose the used cloths safely Remember wooden products change colour when it comes in contact with both natural and electric light. Keep changing the places of any ornaments to avoid patches of discolouration if the object stood at the same place for a long time. Avoid placing sharp objects such as cutlery and pens on the top surface as it can score the surface of your furniture and will damage the finish. Matte finish furniture like ready assembled white bedside cabinets made of wood is not waterproof, heat resistant or immune to chemicals hence, do not put hot dishes or cups on the surface; always use a coasters or mat for protection. Do not use a protective cover containing rubber derivatives as it could react with the finish and damage the product.  Any spills should be cleaned immediately using a clean micro-fibre cloth. Furniture should be dusted regularly using a soft cotton or micro-fibre cloth. If your furniture got shipped, scratched or stained we recommend seeking help of a professional to get it restored. For more thorough cleaning for high gloss bedside cabinets, sideboards or any furniture you can occasionally wipe it with a soft cloth dampened with a mild detergent solution. Remember the surface should be thoroughly dried with a lint free cloth to prevent watermarks. On no account should solvent cleaning agents (such as nitro-based thinners, acetone, nail polish remover or similar products) be used on or near a High Gloss surface as this will leave marks that cannot be removed.  Using a silicone-based polish repeatedly is not recommended as this will lead to the build- up of a silicone film, which will alter the appearance of the piece and its finish. Never use brusque cleaning agents or cloths (e.g. linen cloths, paper towels etc) on High Gloss surfaces as these will scratch and damage the product. Glossy furniture should be cleaned using a non-solvent based glass cleaner and a soft cloth, cautiously avoiding contact with wooden or painted sections.
