  2. World Turtle Day® Celebration The turtle and tortoise rescue organization, “American Tortoise Rescue” (ATR), was founded in 1990. It is a non-profit organization that rescues and rehabilitates turtles and tortoises. It also created a sanctuary for unadoptable animals to live in. http://www.tortoise.com/

  3. May 23rd of every year is World Turtle Day “Shellibration.” It is a say to celebrate these notable reptiles. ATR raises awareness, rescues and protects turtles and tortoises all around the world. • In 2000, it was formed to make people aware about the protection and rescue of turtles and tortoises.
