  2. Tips for a good slideshow • Use simple backgrounds (no background images is best) as this will improve the readability of your content • Use highly contrasting colors such as black text on a blank white slide • Download this presentation and use as a template

  3. Tips continued • When designing a PowerPoint slideshow for use in a Video Conference, keep the bottom right 1/3 of the slides (gray area on this slide) empty to allow for the picture - in - picture that the viewers of the conference will see. Keep this area free of text. This would be a good location for any logo or other general graphic not critical to the presentation.

  4. PIP definition • (Picture In Picture) During the conference, the remote site will be able to see you in a small video window in the bottom right of a full-screen video display. This makes it possible for the viewers to see you and your content at the same time. PIP

  5. Other things to keep in mind • Technical problems are rarely a problem but cannot be predicted. As a backup plan, send all content (PowerPoints, documents, spreadsheets, etc) via e-mail to the site you are connecting to and get a phone number for the remote site ahead of. That way the conference can still be held via phone if necessary.
