Pronombres Reflexivos
  • In Spanish, reflexive verbs have –se at the end of the verb (i.e. lavarse) or are accompanied by a reflexive pronoun (i.e. me, te, se, etc).

Reflexive Pronouns

me (myself) nos (ourselves)

te (yourself) os (yourselves)

se (himself, herself, yourself) se (themselves, yourselves)

placement of reflexive pronoun
Placement of Reflexive Pronoun
  • Where do we place the reflexive pronoun? BCV – before the conjugated verb.

Example – Me lavaré el pelo.

** At times you may see it at the end of an infinitive (ex. tendrá que lavarse); however, for right now, we will place it in front of the conjugated verb (se tendrá que lavar).

** If it is attached, the reflexive pronoun must agree with the subject.

For example:

Yo tendré que afeitarme. OR Tú necesitarás jabón para lavarte.
