  2. PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS by Pope Benedict XVI

  3. O Father, raise up among Christians numerous and holy vocations to the priesthood, to keep the faith alive and guard the gracious memory of your Son Jesus …

  4. … through the preaching of his word and the administration of the Sacraments, with which you continually renew your faithful.

  5. Give us holy ministers of your altar, who are careful and fervent guardians of the Eucharist, the sacrament of the supreme gift of Christ for the redemption of the world.

  6. Call ministers of your mercy, who through the sacrament of reconciliation, spread the joy of your forgiveness.

  7. Grant, O Father, that the Church may welcome with joy numerous inspirations of the Spirit of your Son and, docile to His teachings,

  8. may she care for vocations to the ministerial priesthood and to the consecrated life. Sustain the bishops, priests, and deacons, consecrated men and women,

  9. and all the baptized in Christ,so that they may faithfully fulfill their mission at the service of the Gospel. This we pray You through Christ our Lord. Amen.

  12. Tasks • Organize yourself according to Vicariate (organizational system, networking, etc) • Plan the vocation caravan program • Include in the plan, the celebration of the Year for Priests

  13. Holy Family Vicariate Vocation Caravan • Whole day affair (weekend pref Sat) • Opening Ceremony • Vocation Talk • Sharing/Group Dynamics • Discernment Activity (e.g. L-O-V-E stations) • Theme that corresponds to the Year of the Priest

Holy Family Vicariate Vocation Caravan • Assemble at the Diocesan Center and go to the parish (activities will be solely for the parish concerned) • Culminating activity: c/o coordinators of the parish (PRIEST CONCERT) • Every congregation will provide at least ONE CAR (with tarpaulins) • Activity - every weekend • Next Meeting - August 16; 8:00 AM; RVM

  18. Sta Rita • Organize Vocation Ministry in parishes • Integrate the activities with the Year of the Priest • Fr. Ronald to coordinate the entire vicariate • Visit parishes in the vicariate • Vocation Caravan - Every two months

St. Joseph • Launching Project – picnic barbecue (to bond with the youth) sing worship songs with them; invite nuns and priests; informal; eating, singing, getting-to-know) • Meeting August 24 for details 5pm, Our Lady of Pentecost • Write to parish priest and coordinate with the youth ministry

  20. St. Joseph • Launch a visibility campaign (subject to brainstormning) put a series of tarpaulin with a question to ponder on. (e.g. Do you dare to take the road less-travelled? Take it) • Target age: 26-27 y.o. • Open house for the different congregations (let them see how rewarding the life of a priest or a nun can be) • Mentoring program (after the youth has been hooked into considering the religious life)

  21. Perpetual Help 1) Caravan • Several cars going around the vicariate • Way of introducing the whole program • Divide the group (2 caravans) • Schedule different masses where they can give a talk within the mass (esp. those where more youth would congregate) • Generic Invitation

  27. Vicariate Vocation Mass & Interaction with the Youth Rationale: 1. visit of vocation animators in parishes 2. vocation awareness in parishes and animation among the youth 3. interaction and leveling off with the youth

Vicariate Vocation Mass & Interaction with the Youth Rationale: 4. respond to our mission statement: “We, the Vocation Ministers of the Diocese of Cubao, commit ourselves to: a wholistic formation; a joyful accompaniment of the youth towards vocation discernment; and relevant and innovative ways of vocation animation.

  29. Guidelines • 1. congregations belonging to their respective vicariate may join this activity, however, those coming from other vicariates may also participate; Vicariate coordinators, please: 1.1. prepare a head count of those who will attend (individual and per congregation) 1.2. inform the secretary and/or the parish priest of the headcount

  30. Guidelines 2. there will be an interaction (sharing of life) to be followed by an agape (sharing of food) with the youth bring your own food;

  31. Guidelines Vicariate coordinators, please: 2.1. prepare a simple program with the youth (use your creativity in vocation animation/interaction for the youth) 2.2. prepare an interaction and agape - maximum of 1 hour only, if possible 2.3. note: the parish will prepare the number of participating youth and their food (coordination c/o Fr. Ronald)

  32. Guidelines 3. Vicariate coordinators, please designate at least 2 vocation sharers after announcement in the mass (maximum of 3 minutes only per sharer). 4. Recitation of Prayer for Vocation with the congregation follows after the last sharer.

  33. Guidelines 5. Congregations may put up their exhibit in designated and strategic locations, please coordinate with the parish secretary beforehand 6. Distribution of stampita/vocation paraphernalia may be done after the mass.
